The ATI-720 Templars are the anti-terradyne infantry units of the Order of the New Dawn's Pax Dei. Templars are stealthy and fairly perceptive. Their weapon systems are capable of defeating most ground targets. However, they are completely defenseless against enemy infantry and aerodynes.

Background[]

The Order Templars are anti-terradyne infantry armed with the Retribution shoulder Anti-Armor Missile System capable of demolishing most terradynes in a matter of seconds. Only combat-proven female members of the Pax Dei are allowed to join the Templar division because of old dogmatic reasons.

The primary weapon of a Templar is the GrU-6 Retribution Shoulder Anti-Armor Missile System. The weapon system is considered to be the most powerful infantry weapon available today and it is rumored that the Crayven Corporation are currently researching and developing their own version. Retribution missiles are capable of defeating the most powerful terradyne armor with ease and spreading death and chaos on the battlefield. A Crayven Field Commander is urged not to underestimate the small frame of the Templars as they are certainly one of the Orders most deadliest units. Templars are regularly loaded into Command APC’s for quick transport and added protection.

However the Templar does have a severe weakness; they are completely defenseless against enemy infantry as a soldier does not generate a strong enough tracking signal for the powerful Retribution missiles. Templars are seldom encountered alone on the battlefield without a Crusader squad attached or other means of protection.[1]

Overview[]

Templars are anti-vehicle infantry, firing rapid volleys of torpedoes with deadly accuracy. Light and medium vehicles sustain heavy damage quickly, and even heavy terradynes eventually buckle if they are attacked from behind. As Templar are infantry, they possess great stealth capabilities and can ambush vehicles in hilly terrain. This is precisely where they are usually found during the Crayven campaign. Their high rates of damage make them high priority targets.

Templar have the same weaknesses as other infantry: they are slow-moving relative to vehicles, and their low health make them vulnerable to anti-personnel fire. In addition to these, Templar are completely vulnerable to enemy infantry. Air-to-ground aerodynes also make short work of them.

Templar can be equipped with micronuke warheads, allowing them to damage or destroy even the most heavily armored vehicles. They may also equip themselves with anti-air warheads, granting them protection, or at least mutually assured destruction, if they encounter aerodynes.
