The AV/F-1001 FA Delta is the fighter aerodyne of the Crayven Corporation. Fighter aerodynes are very fast and are designed to take out hostile aerodynes, but are not capable of attacking ground targets. They are lightly armored.

Background[]

The Crayven Corporation manufactured AV/F-1001 FA Delta is the latest advanced fighter aerodyne in the AV/F(Fowler) series. The Delta - powered by two SecAmp fusion engines complemented with standard Lavnoc hover drives - is able to pull off amazing maneuvers at low altitude. The one-manned fighter is equipped with an extremely advanced computer system aiding the pilot, feeding him with topology data and vector plans. The system is intimately hooked into the pilot’s combat suit and regulates all pressure and stimulants the pilot needs.

The Delta can fly into low orbit if necessary, but is more often transported in AV/U4’s, as its combat capabilities are severely lowered without its maneuver advantage.

The Crayven fighter aerodyne is primarily loaded with N69-PDU GLORY missiles, capable of destroying enemy aerodynes in a heartbeat. The GLORY missiles are air-to-air only.[1]

Overview[]

Deltas are dedicated anti-air aerodynes. Compared to other anti-air units, Deltas are about as effective as DTA-266 AMRLT Firecrackers, but not quite as effective as APF-331 MAAG Ocelots. Deltas cannot be repaired, which is a big drawback when compared to the other anti-air options. They make up for this with their excellent speed and maneuverability, allowing them to escort other aerodynes.

Deltas have only one special weapon, improved anti-air missiles. This increases their already considerable damage so that they can quickly eliminate exceptionally dangerous aerodynes. Deltas can equip afterburners for increased speed, image intensifiers to see enemy units from farther away, or anti-missile systems, allowing them to fly past anti-air units without sustaining damage and also allowing them to comfortably win dogfights against any aerodyne.
