The Order of the New Dawn was a popular religious movement based on the Abrahamic faiths of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. It was the largest faith on Earth in the 24th century, counting nearly 700 million faithful among its ranks.

The Order was founded in the aftermath wastelands of the Sixteen Minutes War by a group of Christians. From there they helped people survive the harsh winter wastelands and eventually grew to one of the most controlling and rich colonial factions in the galaxy.

Organization structure[]

The structure of the order is divided into three branches of service.

Manus Dei[]

The first branch is the civilian Manus Dei, "the Hands of God", which is also the largest branch of the Order. The Manus Dei is the workforce of the Order, both on Earth and abroad.

While there are laws set by the Global Central Command regarding the appropriation of skills workers between corporations, religious conversion is unrestricted, and so the Manus Dei is constantly gaining a slew of new followers via their itinerant preaching and conversion.

Pax Dei[]

Th second branch of the Order is the Pax Dei, or the "Peace of God". They serve as the standing security force of the Order, having over 90 million men and women recruited. The Pax Dei views themselves as the Holy Defenders of the Faith, and dedicate themselves to protecting the Order and its interests on Earth and throughout the galaxy.

The Pax Dei provides policing and security for the Order's colonies on several worlds, and provides pilots and crews for the Church's vessels. Given their fanaticism in the faith of the New Dawn, Pax Dei troops have high morale and are willing to fight to the last soldier.

Vox Dei[]

The third branch of the Order is the Vox Dei, "the Voice of God", and functions as both the spiritual and administrative arm of the church. The Vox Dei only allows men to join their ranks, as ministers, astronomers, and inquisitors.

The ministers effectively rule the Order and make all administrative and strategic decisions. The sacred astronomers serve as the Order's intelligentsia, composing of priest-scientists whom guide the research into new worlds and technology. The Inquisition is the Order's internal security force and intelligence division, defending the spiritual purity of the Order from within and without.

The Inquisition trains Battle-Priests, officers and religious figures attached to Pax Dei units to ensure that field commanders are "spiritually correct".
